Transformation of a Chair

My house as you'll come to know is a work in progress with really no end in sight. There isn't a room in my house that is complete, and I am in constant flux with my plans and ideas. Sometimes, I execute an idea that I've held for years only to realize that I was over it before I even finished the project. It's sometimes frustrating but most of the time, it's just plain fun!

Take my living room for example. For the better part of 10 years, my living room has been made up of a couch, a glass table that I no longer love, and a large lounge chair.  The original idea was Traditional Home meets cozy, chic NYC lounge. But that idea no longer inspires me. So, this summer I set out in search of a bargain to complete my living set, and I landed a set of beautiful Bergere chairs on ebay.

Aren't they lovely? I then set out to search for the right fabric at the right price, of course. Inspired by the colors in the following images, I came to the conclusion that I wanted a bold, vibrant, graphic pattern that made a statement.

Taking into account, that my existing chairs are a slate gray and that I love orange, I narrowed my search down to orange fabrics and came up with the following possibilities.

But over and over again, I kept coming back to that Schumacher Imperial Trellis pictured in the center, and so Imperial Trellis it is!

My chairs are currently at the upholsterer, and I can't wait to have them sitting pretty in my living room. Stay tuned for the reveal in a few days!
